As Jo has recently joined the team she is currently getting up to speed on supporting surgical and pre-admission clinics. She is particularly keen to get involved in supporting transitioning young people to adult services.
Current role and experience
Jo was previously a staff nurse on Ward 32 at Bristol Children’s Hospital. She has recently successfully completed the Trust’s Advanced Cardiac Care and Management Course. Jo is currently involved in producing a Baby Pack to support new Mums on their journey through the first few weeks when their baby is in hospital. She has also co-authored a chapter of a book aimed at supporting nursing students caring for a child with a cardiac condition, which is due to be published in November.
Interests outside of work
Jo has recently got interested in gardening (must be an age thing!) She also does tap and modern dancing which she really enjoys – not that she's claiming to be any good! Jo also really enjoy doing anything craft related – and recently got involved in updating our staff noticeboard - with lots of different coloured heart shaped backgrounds!
