Current role and experience
The Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Clinical Nurse Specialist service has been running since September 2023 and is funded for one day per week. This is usually on a Friday, although it may occasionally move to another day for clinics, meetings, or training.
David responds to patient queries by phone and email and works closely with cardiologists at both the Bristol Heart Institute (mainly Dr North) and Gloucester (mainly Dr Lindsay), as well as the ACHD CNS team at the BHI, to support patient care. David supports Joint ACHD clinics in Gloucester by preparing patient information in advance and also runs a dedicated Transfer Clinic in Gloucester for young people moving from paediatric to adult services.
Interests outside of work
David is a keen swimmer, and is hoping to extend this to doing a triathlon one day.
