The Bristol fetal cardiology service would like to invite you to join us for a day of teaching and updates in fetal cardiology.

Home - Fetal Cardiology Course

About this event

This day will be full of presentations, discussions and networking opportunities. The course is aimed at sonographers performing the 20 week anomaly scans or to anyone wishing to improve their knowledge of the fetal cardiac anatomy and skills in scanning the fetal heart.

The day will include talks on normal fetal cardiac anatomy and the most common cardiac abnormalities presented by members of the fetal cardiology teams from Bristol and Cardiff. We will also have presentations from the cardiac specialist nurse team who will give an overview of the management of the some of the most common cardiac conditions we see in our clinics. In addition to this, Psychologist Judith Johnson will be presenting her work on the consensus guidelines on the communication of unexpected news in Ultrasound. Finally, we will bring the day to a close with the patient perspective and the journey from suspicion of a cardiac anomaly through to diagnosis and their onward journey through the fetal cardiology service.
