Dr Nigel Osborne is a Consultant Paediatrician with special interest in Paediatric Cardiology and Neonatology.

He studied medicine at Nottingham University Medical School qualifying in 1993. After extensive postgraduate training across general paediatric, community and neonatal domains at a variety of hospital in the South-West of England and Wellington, New Zealand Dr Osborne undertook training in Paediatric Cardiology at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Bristol. 

He is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the British Congenital Cardiac Association.

Dr Osborne was appointed to his current role at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in September 2003 working with colleagues in Exeter and the regional cardiology team in Bristol.

Current role and experience

For 15 years he has been part of the paediatric team in Exeter provide an in-patient and out-patient paediatric cardiology provision for local children. Most recently this has been within the framework of a local paediatric cardiology centre as part of the South Wales and South-West Congenital Heart Disease Network.

Interests outside of work

In his spare time Dr Osborne enjoys family life with his wife and his children are regularly seen hiking on Dartmoor, cycling through the Devon lanes, kicking footballs and thrashing shuttlecocks!
