Dr Schmidt's current role and experience are Consultant Paediatrician since October 2002, general and acute paediatrics, echo clinics and echo services for in- patients, advice on ECGs and other cardiac issues for colleagues, Newport general paediatric link for children with complex heart disease and Child Protection work as part of acute work and on call for section 47 referrals.
Interests outside of work
Dr Schmidt's interests outside of work are her family, she is active in youth work within the Anglican church and enjoys walking and cycling and reading.
