Interests / expertise / research in CHD
Dr Victoria North's particular areas of clinical interest are in caring for pregnant women with heart disease, caring for young adults as they transition into adult services, and in palliative care for ACHD patients. She is working alongside Dr Curtis in the obstetric cardiology service, and in the cardiac antenatal clinic at St Michael’s hospital.
Passionate about providing high quality holistic care to ACHD patients towards the end of life, Dr North is currently undertaking a Masters in Palliative Medicine at Cardiff University.
Dr North enjoys teaching and training other health care professionals, and is also very interested in promoting staff wellbeing.
Current role and experience
Dr Victoria North trained at Bristol Medical School, and has been working in hospitals around the South West since she graduated in 2011. Dr North has worked with the ACHD team at the Bristol Heart Institute since 2018, and also spent 6 months of her congenital cardiology training programme with the paediatric cardiology team at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
Interests outside of work
Outside of work, she can usually be found out in the fresh air with family and friends, or playing the piano.
