Name

Dr. Demetris Taliotis

Job Title

Consultant in Paediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology and Congenital Cardiac Interventions

Interests / expertise / research in CHD

I provide comprehensive care in children and young adults with congenital heart disease. I have a particular interest and expertise in paediatric and adult congenital interventions from neonatal life to old age.

I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol. My main interest of research and publications is the clinical application of novel techniques and devices in congenital cardiac interventions.

Current role and experience

I have been at University Hospitals Bristol since July 2015 practicing both in Paediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology. I have been the clinical lead in cardiac interventions at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children since 2015, and an integral member of the Adult Congenital Interventional team. I have previously worked at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester for a period of 5 years, where I was both clinical lead for paediatric cardiology and clinical lead for congenital interventions. Prior to that I worked as a locum Consultant in Paediatric Cardiology at Leeds General, where I trained.

Interests outside of work

I enjoy nothing more but spending most of my free time looking after my two young children and spending some quality time with my family. I enjoy reading and have a keen interest in modern history, especially of the early 20th century. I enjoy cooking, and trying out new recipes from around the world.
